Tell-It-Like-It-Is Testifiers

We need folks who are willing to testify at public hearings in front of committees such as Appropriations, Human Services, and others to protect mental health services and funding. It is key that we have our collective voice represented at critical hearings!

Keep the Promise can provide you with support during the hearing process including assistance with creating, editing and submitting written and oral testimony. Call KTP today if you have particular subjects you are interested in testifying about. KTP will regularly post notice of hearings on this website. HOWEVER: the CT General Assembly is only required to give 5 days notice, including weekends and holidays! Therefore we ask that you prepare your testimony ahead of time on either the budget or a particular issue. That way you will only have to edit it when the time comes to testify.

For more information on hearings, you can go to the CT General Assembly’s website: You can also call KTP for assistance at: (860) 788-6180.

KTP members have testified in the past on issues including, but not limited to:

  • Access to Medications
  • Alternatives to Incarceration
  • Elderly/Disabled Housing
  • Investing in Community Mental Health Services
  • Nursing facilities/institutions and community integration
  • Provider Rates
  • Raise the Age/Juvenile Justice issues
  • Raise the Medicaid Income Limit
  • Restraints & Seclusions
  • School-based Mental Health
  • Supportive Housing
  • System gridlock
  • Young Adult Services

…and many more!
